Other Homes at the New York Dept of Parks and Recreation’s Arsenal Gallery considered the role of organic materials within the lexicon of contemporary art: specifically in contemporary found and assemblage art. Works by Marina Andrijčić-Ojeda, Jon Bunge, Katya Grokhovsky, Rachel Hornaday and Nyugen Smith each uniquely consider the effects natural environments exert on contemporary art. These works considered our intimacy with the natural environment while examining the tension created by transforming organic matter into assembled and found artworks.
