Artist statements + series statements

We have worked with established artists with over 40 years of career history and artists entering BFA and MFA programs alike to fully develop statements that communicate the scope and range of topics and methods used to achieve either a specific series of artworks or the artist’s comprehensive practice as a whole.

Please see our testimonials for specific feedback we have received on artists we have assisted in producing final versions of the artist/series of work statements. To date, we have worked with over 80 artists to fine tune and eloquently express the scope of each artist’s practice and conceptual rigor.

catalog essays

In addition to writing and editing catalog essays for exhibitions we have curated, we have also produced catalog essays for nonprofits and galleries alike (including C24 gallery in Chelsea, New York City - excerpt to right.) We have also edited catalog essays and texts produced in tandem with exhibitions at both the local and international level.

We can work with you to produce an essay or to edit and shape written texts to accompany exhibition publications at varying lengths, from a few hundred words to a few thousand. Contact us for further details.

WEB COPYWRITING + EDITING

We have spent over four years bringing that finishing touch to creative professionals and artists’ websites, nudging language in the right direction to reflect the unique qualities that artists, designers and creative folks bring to their projects and their practice. From overhauling product descriptions, to phrasing statements for entire series of artworks, get in touch with us about how to bring that little bit of creative edge to your web copy to make the best possible first impression!

IN ADDITION, WE HAVE worked with artists seeking guidance on applying for visa sponsorship & renewals to strategize around press placement and strategic engagement, provided editorial feedback to artists preparing to submit materials for residencies, awards and fellowships, and even prepared artists finalizing materials for graduate programs. We have also edited artist websites, bios, exhibition materials and didactics for self-produced exhibitions. T E S T I M O N I A L S

“Audra Lambert has been instrumental in increasing the exposure of my work…her feedback has been invaluable in revising my Artist Statement and on many other topics. She has tremendous organizational skills and has helped me to develop a Time Line of my career, which I can show to visitors to my studio. It has been a pleasure working with her. “

- Jeff W., Whitney Biennial exhibiting artist based in NYC

“It is with complete confidence that I recommend Audra Lambert for assistance with academic writing and writing for artists. I met with Audra initially to discuss goals and she quickly helped me to narrow down my ambitions to key programs that would benefit my career as a mixed media artist. One of these goals was to apply to a PhD program in Studio Art. Audra helped me express my conceptual ideas in writing and really helped me focus my words and intention in my proposal to best describe my concepts. I had taken an 11 year break from academic writing, so this guidance was essential in polishing my raw ideas into a presentable proposal. I am happy to say I was accepted to the program for Fall 2020. I will definitely be using this service again moving forward.”

-Kat C.,  American artist currently pursuing her PhD

“Audra helped me bring my practice to life on my website in a way that went beyond my expectations. I’m so thrilled I pulled her onboard to overhaul my website and to communicate key points in my practice.”

- Arlene R., internationally exhibiting artist based in NYC
